Frequently Asked Questions

While Sub-Zero and most major brand refrigerators, freezers and appliances have many different characteristics, one factor is common among all of them; they are expensive and can be very difficult to replace. While you can typically replace a microwave relatively easily, buying a new refrigerator can be much more difficult, especially if you're on a tight budget. At High-Tech Appliance, we repair your existing refrigerators and freezers so you don't have to spend the extra money to buy new ones. So High-Tech Appliance is providing answers to some frequently asked questions we get from our customers.

Manufacturers typically offer lower prices on their low-quality appliances and higher prices on their choice lines. The difference in price is in the internal components in the machines. Lower-end machines have lower-quality materials than those that are more expensive.

When deciding to repair an old refrigerator or purchase a new one, consider the quality of refrigerator you can afford as a replacement and the option of having your current refrigerator properly repaired. High Tech Appliance can evaluate your refrigerator to determine if it's in your best interest to repair or replace your refrigerator.

If you compare a Sub-Zero or a major brand refrigerator you bought a decade ago with one comparable in price today, you are not making a valid comparison. The refrigerators are neither similar in quality nor as durable for the same price. If you replace the one you bought a decade ago with one that costs what you paid a decade ago, you’ll be repairing the new refrigerator every 3 to 4 years. You’ll either have to pay more up front for a new, high-quality refrigerator that will give you another decade of trouble-free operation or, if you are unable to afford this, repair your existing machine.
